Geen lang bericht op deze echte herfstdag.
Maar wel vier interessante links.

De eerste is de aankondiging van weer een nieuwe fantasyfilm. Alsof er nog niet genoeg in aantocht zijn (Harry Potter 5, Eragon, Bridge to Terebithia. Pan's labyrinth (hoewel die niet voor kinderen is)). Deze lijkt me wel interessant: het gaat om iemand die de karakters uit boeken tot leven kan brengen. Boeken, dat doet het bij mij altijd goed. En kijk naar de auteurs die meedoen. Andy Serkis, de acteur die Gollem deed! Ik ben benieuwd.

Dan nog een stukje wetenschap: er bestaat een heel diverse levensgemeenschap rond onderzeese moddervulkanen... Ja, dat las je goed. Op sommige plaatsen ontsnapt uit de zeebodem een soort koude modder, met daarin opgelost methaan. En er zijn weer soorten schelpen en bacteriën die daarvan leven. Maar ook diepzeekoralen, die voedingsstoffen uit het water filteren. Fascinerend.

Een Nederlandse creatieveling heeft een cool animatiefilmpje gemaakt. Ik wil er niet over nadenken hoeveel tijd hem dat heeft gekost, maar het is behoorlijk indrukwekkend. (Dank aan Berend voor de tip.)

En voor de gamers onder ons: de laatste aflevering van de internet-televisieserie Pure Pwnage: Game Over. Eigenlijk moet je de hele serie gezien hebben (dat gaat makkelijk via de site). Deze aflevering (dubbel zo lang als normaal) is ook weer briljant. Humoristisch en spannend. En met een parodie op de X-files...

But I found four interesting links.

The first one is the announcement of another new fantasymovie. As if there was a lack of new fantasymovies (Harry Potter 5, Eragon, Bridge to Terebithia, Pan's labyrinth (the last one not for children)). This one seems intriguing enough: it concerns someone with the ability to bring characters from novels to life. Novels, always a plus for me. And look at the actors involved. Andy Serkis of Gollum fame. That is promising.

Next a bit of science: there's a very diverse community living around undersea mud vulcanoes... Yes, it's true. In some places there's a mudlike substance coming out of cracks in the oceanfloor, containing lots of methane etcetera. And there are tons of creatures and bacteria living of the methane. But also deep sea corals, filtering food from the water. Fascinating.

A dutch creator made a cool piece of animation. I won't think about the time it must have cost him to make it, but it is fairly impressive... (Thanks to Berend for the tip).

And for all the gamers out there: the new episode of internet-television series Pure Pwnage: Game Over. I think you should see the entire series first (easy via the site). This episode (forty minutes) is brilliant, as usual. Funny and with a cliff hanger. And a parody on the X-files...]
